Seafish (Falklands) Ltd acts as an investment vehicle to enable Falkland Islanders to participate in both the fishery and the economy more widely through its subsidiary companies.
Our fishing interests are pursued through participation in Polar Seafish Ltd, Silverstream Maritime Ltd and Consolidated Fisheries Ltd. Polar Seafish owns and operates three large stern trawlers fishing for Loligo and Illex squid in the South West Atlantic as well as icefish in South Georgia. The company also has an interest in the South Georgia toothfish fishery.
All product is marketed worldwide through Lafonia Seafoods S.A., a company based in Vigo Spain in which Polar Seafish hold a significant holding (www.polarseafish.com).
Silverstream Maritime is a company formed by Seafish in order to support the development of its interests in the Illex fishery in partnership with Taiwanese vessel owners. The company provides vessel agency services including arranging reefering and bunkering for its member fleet. The company operates from offices in Stanley and Kaohsiung.
Consolidated Fisheries owns and operates a longliner fishing for toothfish within the Falkland Islands zone. It also has interests in the liner service operating between the Islands and Montevideo and in a fish farming project (www.consolidatedfisheries.com).
Through its subsidiary Seafish Chandlery, Seafish own the Islands premier Supermarket and operate the only grocery outlet on Ascension Island (www.chandlery.co.fk).
The company, via its subsidiary Goodwin Ltd, own a number of properties within Stanley including residential, retail, office, workshop, and warehouses. In addition, Goodwin have a construction workforce involved in the construction of properties for the company as well as for third parties (www.goodwin.co.fk).
Wickham Heights Ltd, our third subsidiary, operate a fifty-eight-room lodge, with a further 48 room lodge under construction. Wickham also provide remote catering services and products for the Chandlery Supermarket (www.lookoutlodge.co.fk).
